The BackShop Electric was started to share information about the transition to electric vehicles and the lifestyle that comes with them. Through documenting modifications, maintenance, and other fun projects on video, I hope to share my experience and provide some insight into EV ownership.
My love of EVs is rooted in my passion for things that go combined with over 17 years of experience as a helicopter electronics/electrical technician and powerplant mechanic. Before transitioning to my first EV, I completed a full engine conversion of the first car I ever bought, which I still have today. I enjoy making fun projects and sharing how to modify and maintain my Model S.
I work at an aircraft overhaul facility where each aircraft product line is supported by ancillary shops, called "back shops", that provide specific services to aid in the restoration of several types of aircraft. I named my garage after the back shops and to differentiate it from the attached garage. It became BackShop Electric when I bought my first Tesla.
